The journey that led me to the Heck Studios that exists today is one full of creativity, big ideas, a few pivots, and a melt down (or two). Pretty much your typical entrepreneurship story.

I’m a born and raised Clevelander currently living out her big city dreams in Brooklyn, NY with my boys (my husband Ryan and our pup Ted). New York has everything I love: great food, cozy coffee shops, the best fashion, and endless inspiration.

I grew up working at my grandparents’ greenhouse and always knew entrepreneurship would be my path. After graduating (finally) from The Fashion School at Kent State with a fashion design degree, I was a little lost. I was a broke 20-something living in Cleveland with limited resources. So I started creating designs and hand-stitching them on t-shirts, and that’s how my first biz SWdsgns was born! 

These days my business is strictly digital, but everything I’ve done from then until now has made me the business owner I am! I believe in the importance of experimentation, never being complacent, and never being afraid to try something just because no one you know is doing it.
